Barbara O’Brien is an Associate Vice President for Public Health. She has 30 years of experience directing or managing health research projects of national significance with particular focus on cancer screening and etiology, and the impact on human health of life-course environmental exposures and genetic interaction. Her projects have included large multisite longitudinal surveys, epidemiologic studies, and methods research.
O’Brien’s expertise spans all aspects of coordinating center and survey operations, including materials design and development, training, data collection and management, monitoring, reporting, and quality assurance. She specializes in collection, handling, and processing of biospecimens and management of biorepository and analytic laboratory services.
